Between the districts Niedergörsdorf station and Gölsdorf is the artillery monument, which was built in honor of the Prussian divisions under Captain Spreuth and First Lieutenant Baumgarten in 1902. The Prussians fought heroically at this point against a much stronger gun line of a Saxon division.
In 1988 war veterans of the Royal Wendes Artillery Regiment from Sweden visited the 175th anniversary of the Battle of Dennewitz. To commemorate the fallen Swedish soldiers of 1813 another memorial plaque was added to the monument.
On the upper commemorative plaque reads: "Battery Spreuth - 1/2 Battery Baumgarten. September 6, 1813 "; and on the memorial stone below: "Your deeds merit".
