Church, rectory and chapel
The church building that can be seen today in Bojnice was built in the Gothic style in the years 1370 – 1380. However, the archaeological research also revealed the remains of an earlier, Romanesque building, on the foundation of which the church was built. The church has undergone several building modifications.
The most important changes include the construction of a four-player tower in the 17th century, financed by the Pálffys. In the 18th century, the surrounding buildings were rebuilt - the reconstruction of the rectory in the Baroque style or the conversion of the entrance gate of the adjacent cemetery into the chapel. During this period, some of the stations of the Bojnice Golgotha and the chapel of St. Vendelina in the forest above the castle.
