The Sö 108 runestone is a light granite stone. It is 1.6 m high and 94 cm wide. The unknown rune master used engraved Swedish runes from the 11th century. The words are separated by colons. In the center of the image is a large ring cross without decoration. The snake band starts at the foot, in the middle of the stone, and runs clockwise along the edge of the stone until it reaches the starting point. The main loop is tied to a second snake band. The snake has a pointed head and protruding, round eyes, but no tongue. The rune text starts at the tail and runs counterclockwise.
The text reads: "Gunnulv placed this stone after his father Ulv. He was traveling with Ingvar"
This is one of the 26 Ingvar stones. You can clearly see the inscription "Ikuari" (for Ingvar). As with other Ingvar stones, you can see here that the name Ingvar stands for itself and occupies a central position on the stone. Ingvar Vittfarne (German "Ingvar the Far Travelled", also Ingvar Emundsson) undertook a military voyage (Swedish útrór) to Serkland on the Caspian Sea, during which he and many of his people died. After six years, only one of thirty ships returned to Lake Mälaren in 1042 AD.
