The approximately 18-meter-high parking garage is designed for the future and is therefore an example for other projects. With the exception of the staircases and road surface, it is built entirely of wood, which not only saves a lot of CO2, but even binds it.
Screw connections and the absence of composite materials enable easy dismantling and recyclability of the materials. But because a building only becomes sustainable if it is used for as long as possible, planners and the city have already thought about a future with fewer cars: the spacious parking floors are already designed to be converted into living and working spaces. The central ramp system can be expanded floor by floor from above and a light-giving inner courtyard can be created instead. The striking wooden support structure, natural materials and facade greenery create a lasting quality of stay - for future life in the (parking) house.
