Bernkastel-Kues was the setting for a Harry Potter film. In "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1", Harry enters Lord Voldemort's mind and travels to the accommodation of wandmaker Mykew Gregorowitsch in Diagon Alley. In this alley there is a tall, narrow half-timbered house with two narrow windows on the front: the pointed house on the market square in Bernkastel.
The half-timbering, which overhangs on three sides, was only uncovered in 1914. In the years before that, the half-timbering had been plastered over because of the fire hazard. The pretty bay window and the half-timbered facades are testament to the traditional architecture on the Moselle.
