The Nordmark Mining Museum was opened around 1940 by the mining magistrate Gunnar Persson. Initially, the exhibits were kept in a warehouse near the Nordmarksberg mines, but the museum operations were consolidated at its current location in the 1970s.
Today, the history of iron processing in Nordmark is presented in several buildings - from the beginnings up to 1980. The museum is run by the Nordmark Local History Association, which was founded in 1980.
