L’Hemisfèric is a planetarium and cinema in the City of Arts and Sciences. The building, designed by Santiago Calatrava, was opened in 1998 as the first building of the City of Arts and Sciences in the reclaimed riverbed of the Turia.

L’Hemisfèric - an impressive building in the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, the "City of Arts and Sciences". It was designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava and opened in 1998.

L’Hemisfèric is shaped like a giant eye and houses an IMAX cinema, a digital planetarium and a laser theater. The building is reflected in a pool of water, making it look like a complete eye. It is one of Valencia's most famous landmarks and a highlight for visitors to the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences.
