This highlight features a gem of a park hidden away in Isanti County, off both the beaten and digital path. Although there is a beautiful mix of trails in the prairie, savanna, woodland, and even along the bank of the Rum River, Interestingly, these trails are not discoverable on popular mapping apps such as komoot, Alltrails, Gaia GPS, or even OpenStreetMap. However, there is a PDF of a park brochure on the Isanti County website, which you can download and print for use in the field. This brochure includes a map of Isanti County showing the location of all the Isanti County parks, a map of the Becklin Homestead Park showing all its trails and highlights, and some historical background.
