From September 15, 2024, stamp station 44 of the Hiking Treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located next to the information board.

Here, on the southeastern edge of the Solling, lies the abandoned village of Friwole. Several of these old village sites (deserted villages) can be found in the Solling. Often, little of the former buildings can be seen at these locations today. However, the ruins of the church tower remain in Friwole, a still visible reminder of the village. It consisted of approximately 15 farms with 100 to 150 inhabitants. The settlement was probably destroyed between 1466 and 1486. At the same time, the neighboring village of Hettensen was plundered and burned.
