From September 15, 2024, stamp station 47 of the hiking treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located at the Sohnrey-Höhe lookout point.

This lookout point was named after the teacher, writer, editor and publisher Heinrich Sohnrey (1859-1949). The "Solling poet" made a name for himself as a local historian and social reformer throughout Germany. However, Heinrich Sohnrey is a controversial figure today. As good as his work was for the Solling region, his ideology was not. He was a supporter of the National Socialists. Hitler personally awarded him the "Eagle Shield of the German Reich". Many streets, schools and other buildings in the region have since been renamed or provided with information about their history. The 250-meter-high Sohnrey-Höhe is still part of Lower Saxony. Bad Karlshafen and the Reinhardswald forest behind it are already in the state of Hesse.
