The Kretzermühle did not always serve as a "grinding mill". The mill operation was already shut down in 1907. At some point the building was demolished and replaced by a multi-story residential building.

The Kretzermühle only received its name in the 19th century. At that time, the mill was owned by the Kretzer family. The remains of the mill, which was no longer active at the beginning of the 20th century, had to make way for an apartment building.
