The Niendorfer Gehege extends over almost 150 hectares in the north of Hamburg. The local recreation area is home to a diverse range of fauna and flora. The Niendorfer Gehege promises adventure for young and old. You can walk, jog and romp to your heart's content on over 15 kilometers of hiking trails. Beech, spruce and oak trees up to 200 years old stand on the paved paths. Young visitors can explore the enclosure on the backs of ponies or have fun in the forest playgrounds.
Free-living animals can be observed in a clearing in the middle of the forest. In addition to deer and roe deer, the fallow deer enclosure is also home to hares, foxes and weasels. With a little luck, the shy wild animals will present themselves to visitors. The Niendorfer Gehege can be reached by subway, bus or car. The wooded park can be reached on foot in 20 to 30 minutes from the Niendorf Mark and Hagendeel subway stations. Bus travelers leave bus line 181 at the Niendorfer Gehege stop.
