When approaching the observation tower, you may need to tow your bike uphill for ca 250-300 meters, but the effort will be rewarded.
The Räsävaara observation tower stands at just 18 meters tall, but its hilltop location elevates the viewpoint to over 300 meters above sea level. To the south, the view is dominated by the hills of Koli National Park and Lake Herajärvi. Looking east, you can clearly see the opposite shore of Lake Pielinen, along with the Kelvänsaari and Hattusaari Islands. To the north, Paalasmaa, the largest island in Lake Pielinen, comes into view. The western vista features a forested landscape, where, on clear days, you might spot some of the more distant lakes, such as Lake Höytiäinen.
