Slatina is a town in the Slavonian part of Podravina, in Virovitica-Podravina County. It is located at the transition from the Drava lowland to the foothills of Papuk, next to the Podravska highway and the railway, at 127 m above sea level.[4] According to the 2021 census, the city has slightly more than 8,700 inhabitants. It was granted city status in 1992. City Day is celebrated on September 1 in commemoration of the first written mention of the city on September 1, 1297
