Ystad's Art Museum, in the functionalism style, was inaugurated in 1936 as part of the “Fritiden” exhibition. Permanent and special exhibitions are shown here. The Ystad Visitor Center is located in the same building.

The brick building dates from 1936 and is primarily concerned with regional art history. Art performance events and concerts are also held. Åke Jönsson's work of art "The Car of Fine Arts" from 1960 hangs prominently above the entrance. The building is also an interesting point of contact for visitors, as the Ystad tourist office is also located here.
