Lake Gramolazzo is a hydroelectric basin built in the 1950s, with a dam in the loop of the river Serchio di Gramolazzo, the Apuan branch of the river that draws the Garfagnana valley. The lake was created in the 1950s. The surface of the lake covers about one square kilometer. The inviting wooded landscape brings peace to the mind. The artificial reservoir is the favorite attraction in the Garfagnana.

Of artificial origin, it was created in the second half of the 1900s, together with the famous lake of Vagli.The lake, which has an area of one square kilometer and a volume of 3.8 million cubic meters, has both an the Serchio di Gramolazzo. On the lake there are some tourist facilities, such as a campsite, a hotel and some restaurants; in fact, bathing is possible during the summer months, near some sandy beaches on the shores of the lake.
