The small Gersprenz bridge crossing is located on the road - in the oak - just outside Harreshausen 🚴♂️

The Gersprenz is a 51.3 km, with the Mergbach a 62.1 km long, originating in the Odenwald, SüdW tributary (not navigable) of the Main in Hesse and in Bavaria.

The running in the Odenwald Gersprenz arises SW of Reichelsheim district Bockenrod by the confluence of Mergbach and Osterbach. Since the Mergbach represents the main source river, its source at the Neunkircher height (605 m) in the Middle Odenwald called. The Gersprenz flows first northward, it divides the river from Groß-Zimmern into several arms, which served as Mühlkanäle and then in the city of Dieburg as city and castle moats. From Dieburg makes the Gersprenz a bend and flows through Münster to Babenhausen (DA / DI), after crossing the Bachgauregion she reaches Bavaria. The river is diverted in front of the left-Main dyke on about 3 km to NW to behind the Mainstaustufe Kleinostheim. There - about 500 m before the Main bridge of the A 45 - it flows into the barrage at the Waldhaus settlement in Mainhausen.
