Information about the desert church in Wittstock
Between Wittstock and Rittgarten, on the edge of the path to Kraatz, stands the ruin of the desert church Wittstock. From the rectangular stone building with Querrechteckgem west tower from the 13th century, the tower basement and parts of the surrounding walls of the ship have been preserved. The church stands on a hill surrounded by a field stone wall. This is also still available in parts. The strength of the field stone wall and trenches outside suggest the character of a former fortified church.
