The mountain spur of the Rudolfstein is a nice, quiet place to linger and rest with a view of Haus Hainstein and the Wartburg. The Wartburg tower with its cross and flag can only be guessed through the trees.

Rudolfstein Castle is a lost spur castle at 325 m above sea level. NN named after Rudolf Schenk von Vargula, one of the most respected Thuringian knights and court officials (cupbearer) of the Thuringian landgraves. The castle is a ground monument in the southern urban area of Eisenach; it is located on a prominent rock ledge approx. 1500 m southeast of the Wartburg above the so-called "milk chamber".
