A trip to the Königsstuhl is well worth it. You only have until September to visit the platform on the Königsstuhl. In the spring of 2023, the new viewing platform - the "Königsweg" - should be ready. You can follow the construction progress on this page: koenigsweg.koenigsstuhl.com.

The chalk cliffs on the Jasmund peninsula are the main part of the 3,000 hectare Jasmund National Park. It stretches north of Sassnitz via Lohme
to just before Glowe.
The approximately 11-kilometer-long high-shore path from Sassnitz to the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Center is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Germany. It leads to the most impressive viewpoints on the coastline: the Wissower Klinken,
the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Sicht at Tipper Ort, the Kieler Ufer, the small Stubbenkammer,
the Victoriasicht, the Königsstuhl and the large Stubbenkammer.
The most striking point on the chalk coast is the 118-meter-high Königsstuhl.
Up to 300,000 people climb the Königsstuhl platform every year to look out over the Baltic Sea and the neighboring coastal sections of the chalk coast.
The view from the neighboring Victoriasicht is also impressive.
The Victoria lookout point is an iron platform that protrudes over the chalk cliffs and offers visitors a breathtaking view of the depths and the Königsstuhl from a lofty height. The Victoria viewpoint was built in memory of King Wilhelm I and Crown Princess Victoria of Prussia for their visit to this place on June 10, 1865.
It is highly recommended to take a boat trip to see the entire beauty of the chalk coast from the sea side. In the port of Sassnitz there are many offers for a boat tour along the chalk cliffs. Or get information from the Jasmund National Park Office and take part in a guided hike with experienced rangers.
The unique beauty of these white cliffs inspired many painters and poets in the 19th century. This also included the most important landscape painter, Caspar David Friedrich, whose famous painting rivals the Königsstuhl.

The Königsstuhl with the National Park House is definitely worth a visit. But don't be fooled. You stand on the Königstuhl and look down. If you want to see the chalk cliffs for yourself, you should look to the Victoria view or from the ship.
