Knut Schieferdecker regularly plays here on the oldest carillon in Germany in the Saalfeld Bergfried Park.
The bells were cast in the Ulrich AG bell foundry in Apolda in 1924 and are made to ring by hand using a carillon table and the associated action. Always beautiful! Even as a child I loved the sound of bells 🥰

The bell tower in the grounds of the Bergfriedpark was built in 1927. In it a carillon, consisting of 25 bells, was installed. It belongs today to the oldest chimes in Germany. Originally it was operated by a pneumatic control from the Villa Bergfried. Today it runs automatically.
