The top of Pen-Y-Ghent is particularly exposed. Whilst it is not a very high mountain; the top is very exposed and divides streams flowing east to the North Sea from those that flow west into the Irish Sea.
Always check the mountain forecast before you set-off.
Strong wind or poor visibility can quickly turn a nice walk into a challenging one. As there is a small scramble on top; I wouldn't like to be caught there in thick fog, or on slippery stone during heavy rain.
