Surprisingly, this small village has an arboretum, which you would expect to find in a city - with a visitor center, large parking lot and great facilities including a large observation tower. Several hundred different shrubs and trees are planted in the extensive grounds and the whole thing is extremely well maintained. It even offers a small conference center for events, which has been very appropriately integrated into the entire complex.

In the visitor center itself you can not only buy maps, literature and souvenirs, but also watch a film about the arboretum and the entire plant diversity of the region. Unfortunately only in Latvian.

The entrance ticket cost €6 for an adult in 2024.
