Since the Paradiskullen was rebuilt in 1992 - in 1961 it was also Sweden's first plastic-covered ski jump - Örnsköldsvik has worked its way up to become Sweden's centre for ski jumping and combination. The Nolaskolen ski college is the only one in Sweden that trains jumpers. Almost all of Sweden's popular ski jumpers of recent times are members of the local Friska Viljor ski club and were trained at this college. In 1980, the Junior World Championships took place on what was then the Paradiskullen K70 and from 1985 to 1994 Örnsköldsvik was the venue for six World Cup jumps.
