After the climb, a stop for refreshments is a must. Here, you'll be treated to Thuringian home-style cooking and a selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to late. As a special service, the restaurant also offers a shuttle bus from the hikers' parking lot to the restaurant's door for five euros per trip.

It is actually mandatory in Jena to know the Jenzig, to have made the ascent in every season - the official route as well as the one over the rocky ridge. In addition, the view, or the banks of fog on some days of the year - wonderful!
