There was once a Neolithic settlement on the site of the two settler farms (Weidberghof).
During construction in the 1960s, numerous shards and stone artifacts from the Linear Pottery culture (5500 - 5200 BC) were found.
The people of this cultural phase were the first farmers in this area. Their farms already resembled today's half-timbered houses and were located in the middle of the grain fields.
The finds from here are in the Simmershausen local history museum.

Here I can fortify you with homemade cakes and coffee - very tasty. The milk for this is produced one building further in the barn.
I also have to try cheese / awl sausage platter, really delicious.
