The landscape of Middle Franconia has a particularly high density of settlement traces from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages - this is partly due to the numerous caves that were visited by our ancestors to protect themselves from the weather and climate. In its exhibition, the museum in Thalmässing offers a good overview of the regional development history. The exhibition has a modern structure and is also great for children - a visit at the end of the prehistory hike is particularly nice.

Great, small but also modern museum. Should you look at if you look at the burial mounds ect. has seen nearby. The finds that were discovered in the burial mounds are shown here.
The museum is also very suitable for children. There are several hands-on stations that won't leave you bored.
The employee is very nice and helpful. We got a short introduction.

The museum

In addition to weapons and everyday objects, the focus of the redesigned exhibition is on two special one-offs: On the one hand, a completely preserved, around 4,000-year-old squat grave of a man from the Corded Ware culture. On the other hand, the bull pendant – a Celtic symbol of fertility, which can also be found in the newly designed logo of the treasure trove.

And that's not all of the vivid history lesson: The Thalmässing "find" is not only based on the Archaeological Museum on the Thalmässing market square, but is ideally accompanied by the realistic history village in Landersdorf and the also redesigned archaeological hiking trail.
