The five-aisled Gothic brick hall church with its striking 74 m high tower and three spiers can be seen from afar and was already used as a navigation mark in the 15th century.

Clearly the most striking and largest landmark in Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) is the cathedral. The church was even marked as a navigation point on old nautical charts - so it was easy to see from the sea. Not even the seemingly infinitely high, eleven-story prefabricated buildings on the edge of the center manage to steal the show from this cathedral.
