The former water tower, which has become the landmark of Eckhorst, can be seen from afar. The almost 25m high tower stands on a hill directly next to the former B206. The tower reaches a total height of 56m above sea level. The tower was built in 1937 as a high reservoir to generate the pressure required for the drinking water supply in the Stockelsdorf area. It lost its function as early as 1959. The brick building is a purely functional cube with a square floor plan and originally had very few narrow windows. The tower remained unused for over 30 years. It was not until 1992 that it was converted into a residential tower. The outer walls were broken through and fitted with today's fully glazed balcony-like bay windows. 6 apartments with a fantastic view were built on 8 floors.
