            The castle was originally built in 1354 by Renaud de Waimes, a vassal of the Duke of Limburg. Its strategic location on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Warche River served for centuries as a defensive fortress and residence of noble families.

            After centuries of decay, Reinhardstein was completely restored in the 1960s by Professor Jean Overloop, who restored the castle to its current medieval appearance.

            Today, it is a museum and heritage site, with rooms filled with weapons, furniture, and tapestries. The castle offers impressive views of the Warche Valley and the Robertville Dam.
