Of course, the Holstentor is THE landmark of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, so it had to end up here as an MTB highlight at some point.

Hardly any visitor to Lübeck will skip it. However, if you are on the MTB around Lübeck more often, it is very unfortunate that the passage under the Puppenbrücke is forbidden and you therefore have to drive a piece of the road here - you can at least comfort yourself with the imposing sight.

If, on the other hand, you drive through the Holstentor from the city, you even get a bit of an MTB feeling: you go down a few rustic steps. But don't scare the tourists!

Basically, I would still recommend exploring the sights of the old town on foot!

The Holstentor ("Holstein Gate") is a city gate that borders the old town of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck to the west. It is the symbol of the city. The City History Museum of Lübeck has been located in the Holsten Gate since 1950.

The late Gothic building is one of the remains of the Lübeck city fortifications. Along with the castle gate, the Holsten Gate is the only remaining city gate in Lübeck. For more than 300 years it stood as the "Middle Holsten Gate" in a row with three other Holsten Gates that were demolished in the 19th century. The Middle Holsten Gate, now known as the "Holsten Gate", has been restored several times, most recently in 2005/2006.
