After years of decay, the building was repaired between 1999 and 2001. In a second phase, the visitor center in Grube-Adolf-Park was designed in the years 2002 to 2004 with funding from the state program "Take the initiative". The modern automated energy center controls an environmentally friendly heating system. The solar thermal system installed on the roof provides additional heat for the underfloor heating and the heat exchangers for the hot water supply.

Overall, the hoisting machine house has become the visitor center in Grube-Adolf-Park. For the former miners, however, it will always remain the hoisting machine house of the weather shaft of the Adolf pit.
