Osnabrück's landmark was built in 1512. The Thirty Years War ended on the steps of the building. The town hall is definitely not only worth a visit because of its history: osnabrueck.de/rathaus-westfaelischer-frieden.

The historic town hall in late Gothic style was built in 1512. The construction took more than a quarter of a century. The “New Town Hall on the Old Town” was a very modern facility at that time. But with this magnificent building, the people of Osnabrück not only followed the spirit of the times, but they also demonstrated that they had reached the peak of their political power.

The Osnabrück town hall is characterized by an 18 meter high hipped roof, at the bottom of which there are six towers. The large staircase leads to the entrance door from two sides. The door handle shows a dove and the year 1648. In addition to a model of the city of Osnabrück from 1633, visitors can view the Peace Hall. There is also a golden book here in which you can immortalize yourself.
