The Pătrăuţi Monastery is located in Romania, around 7 km northwest of the city of Suceava in the Pătrăuţi municipality. The preserved church Biserica Înălțarea Sfintei Cruci ("Exaltation of the Holy Cross") was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1993 along with other churches in Moldavia.
The church dates back to a foundation by Stephen the Great in 1487.
The church is the earliest completely preserved three-apse church of the Moldavian type. Above the naos is a "Moldavian vault". The outer walls of the apses, as well as the drum of the dome, are structured by narrow blind arcades. A narrow terracotta frieze runs under the eaves.[2]
