After crossing the Gangbala Pass this vista point at 4677m altitude offers exceptional views of Yamtso Lake (or Yamdrok Tso Lake, or Yanghu). It is a busy spot, given there are no other places along the highway G349 that allow for stopping and taking in the view.
At the vista point there are opportunities for food and drink. Also taking photos, with a few, with Tibetan Mastiffs, Yaks, or goats.
From Lhasa it takes almost three hours to drive here up a good mountain road with bends and turns. If you are not used to the low oxygen levels at altitudes above 4000m, better also bring oxygen canisters with you. These are available in most supermarkets in Lhasa.
