The Fuente Alta Trail runs through the dense coniferous forests of the Suerte de la Fuente Alta. It is designed to be done both walking and mountain biking, with some technical steps and steep slopes. It was the scene of the cross country race at the 2000 Sierra Nevada Mountain Bike World Championships.
The route of the Fuente Alta trail passes through the Cortijo or Suerte de Fuente Alta, enabled as an Ethnographic Museum, although currently the interior is closed, and you can only see the buildings from the outside. It will help you learn about the life of the ancient inhabitants of the area. There is also a rest area between the houses and a fountain. The most impressive thing about the walk along this trail is the impressive views of the Sierra Nevada, especially if you do it in winter with the peaks covered in snow. In summer it is a very pleasant route thanks to the mild temperatures, although you must protect yourself well from the sun.
