    This area, located in the national forest south of Spa, extends to the north of the Malchamps fagne, on the hillside formed by the Wayai valley, at an altitude of 470 m to 520 m.
    It is delimited to the north by the Nelis forest path, which connects the Thier des Raixhons to the Spa-La Sauvenière aerodrome, to the south, by the Tir firebreak which connects the Domaine de Bérinzenne to the same aerodrome, at from its main entrance.
    Its name takes its origin from the rich steelmaking past of the Spa region, during modern times (16th century), when forges flourished throughout the Spa area, bringing together the entity of Creppe and the entity of Spa, attesting to the presence of iron ores at this location.

        One of the many beautiful little valleys in this area (along with Meyerbeer, Rau Pendu, Sauvenière, Géronstere, etc.). With its rocky riverbed beneath tall beech and oak trees, it's picturesque and breathtakingly beautiful in autumn. It's no wonder the "Promenade des Artistes" runs through here, with each bridge dedicated to a different artist.
