Gothic church of St. Marije Magdalena (Margarete) stands as a ruin without a roof, and it was built on an elevated position, west of the Zrin burg. The church was preserved. According to sources, a monastery used to be located next to its southern part. The floor plan of the building is simple: it consists of a polygonal sanctuary and a nave. The Franciscan monastery of St. Mary Magdalene was founded by Prince Nicholas III. Zrinski, who died after the Ottoman incursion into Zrin. The Ottomans demolished the monastery, but did not destroy this church. Gothic church of St. Mary Magdalene is one of the most important medieval sacred buildings in northern Croatia and has a high architectural and historical value.
