Celebrated as one of the most spectacular achievements of Mycenaean architecture, many visitors miss the entrance to the small subterranean water storage. It's accessible via a small archway at the far Eastern end of the Acropolis trail loop, down some 100 slippery and uneven ancient steps about 18 meters underground, partly cut into the bedrock, partly built up by the ancient cyclopean masonry. Bring a flashlight (at minimum a smartphone with a strong light).
