Parish Church of St. Eusebius, Berschis

In terms of church history, we would like to look at the following key dates: The consecration of the Catholic Church of St. Eusebius took place in 1502. As in Flums in 1529, the Reformation was initially well received. However, the old conditions were restored in 1532. Berschis made it a point to have the village church and cemetery blessed again by Auxiliary Bishop Stephan Tschuggli in July 1533. In ecclesiastical terms, Berschis was affiliated with Flums until 1703, where the Lords of Gräpplang had the right of patronage. Berschis received its own priest. After Berschis and Tscherlach separated from the Flums mother church, they formed their own parish in 1714. After the old church was demolished, the new one was consecrated in 1880; it stands on the same rocky outcrop as the old one. Text / Source: Walensee pastoral unit
