The Schwarzbroicher Bach flows through the nature reserve Bechsiefen and Hundberger Siefen (Middle Dhünn). It stretches between Schwarzbroich and Osenau. The area includes the tributary of the Dhünn and its valley system with vegetation of hillside forests, floodplain forests, swamp forest and wet grassland. The stream is formed by the confluence of two headwaters, one of which flows north from Schwarzbroich. It begins with swamp forest and some springs outside the area and is dammed in two small waters. Down the brook, the Bruchwald changes into a swellable Erlenauwald, which fills the entire valley floor with a small interruption through a sieve-like notch valley section. The upper course, which flows from Bechsiefen to the south-east, comes from a sewage treatment plant, runs through swellable brook floodplain forest in a valley of valley notches, and finally forms the border between forest and wet grassland.
