At the beginning of the 18th century, several houses were built on the bank of the river Una. It was the beginning of a settlement that was located on a terrace (podovi) above the river, which is why it got the name Podovi. It was described by Ivan Drašković in 1732. After visiting the border in 1775 and spending the night in Podovi, Emperor Josip II. The pods change their name to Dvor. Nevertheless, both names will appear side by side for more than a hundred years. During the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the place was named Dvor na Una. Today the place is called Dvor.
