The bale house is located between Marienplatz and Lindenplatz; It was built around 1420 as a warehouse for external merchants. On the first floor were rooms of the city administration. After a fire, it was rebuilt in 1515 and from 1860 reduced by about one third. In 1987, the dilapidated building was renovated and located on the ground floor a catering business. Upstairs was a hall for events.
