The Drużno Lake Reserve is a unique place on the bike trail near Elbląg, ideal for nature lovers. The lake is shallow and overgrown with reeds, and the reserve primarily protects water birds - you can see herons, cormorants and white-tailed eagles here. It is best to go there in late spring or summer, when there are the most birds. The routes around the lake lead partly along dirt roads, so it is worth taking a trekking bike and checking the forecast, because it gets muddy after rain. An interesting addition to the trip could be a cruise on the Elbląg Canal, which starts nearby.

This reserve is located in the southern part of the Elbląg district (division 423-440), in the Janowo forest district. According to the regulation of the Minister of Forestry and Wood Industry of December 29, 1966 (MP No. 5, item 26, of 1967), the area of the reserve is 3,068.31 ha. Over 99% of the reserve area (3,021.60 ha) is State Treasury land. The land of the Markusy commune is 4.38 ha, and private property is 0.23 ha. The Forest District's land included in the reserve is 645.58 ha, which constitutes over 20% of its total area. The reserve was created on December 29, 1966, by order of the Minister of Forestry and Wood Industry (Monitor Polski No. 5, item 26, of 1967). The purpose of establishing the reserve according to the above-mentioned ordinance is: "Preserving the breeding places of waterfowl and marsh birds for scientific and educational reasons and for the beauty of the landscape."
