The development of the approximately four-hectare urban park 'Hutan Kota GBK' ('Gelora Bung Karno') took place as part of the preparation for the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta in order to use the site for ceremonies and meetings. After the Asian Games ended, the management of 'Hutan Kota' was publicly advertised and awarded to an exclusive operator in a competition. Plataran Indonesia redesigned the park and developed it into an event venue with several restaurants and green spaces. The official name of the place is now 'Hutan Kota by Plataran'.
