Small, locally run, beautiful campsite.
The hosts - Ken and Josephine Haworth are descended from the local Hapu (sub-tribe) - Nqati Kurawhatia & Iwi - Te Atihaunui a-papa-rangi (local tribe).
The site is equipped with a communal kitchen, living and dining room, fridge, oven and stove, microwave, toaster, as well as running hot and cold water, showers/toilets and coin-operated laundry. There is also a small shop. Cabins, pitches for camper vans and a large meadow for tents are available.
Ohakune and Whanganui can be reached in 1-2 hours by car.
Pipiriki is the start/end point of the Mangapurua Track. The jet boat ride to Mangapurua Landing can be booked through the local Whanganui River Adventures. From there it is a 40-minute walk to the Bridge-to-Nowhere or you can start the MTB ride on the Mangapurua Track to Ruatiti.
