The Müritz and Tiefwarensee have been marked by the last ice age. You can learn more about this at the various stations of the Ice Age Trail that leads around the Tiefwarensee. From the observation tower you have a beautiful view of the region. The tower is not high, but the land around it is very flat.

Enjoy the view over the ice age landscape of the Tiefwarensee from the northernmost point of the city. As part of the circular hiking trail around the Tiefwarensee, the lookout tower is high up on the field. Along the way is a small "stone forest" with stone towers built by visitors and hikers. Past the "Steinwald" and over a slightly stony field path, you reach the tower with seating. Listen to the silence of the Ice Age landscape, take a deep breath and let your eyes wander over the vast country. In the summer there is a cocktail bar near the "Amsee Bridge" and the "Paulshöhe" beer garden.
