The construction of the observation tower and refreshment hut on Veľká Čantoria was carried out between July and October 2002. The actual construction of the observation tower was preceded by the creation of designs from September 2001 and the production of this steel, galvanized structure by the company Strojírenská vukizó Třinecké železáren in cooperation with the designer of this unusual structure in our region. The ceremonial opening was performed by the godfather of this observation tower, the captain of Třinec hockey players, Richard Král, on November 23, 2002. All companies involved in this construction took part in the opening.
The intention of investors Jiří and Jan Lubojacky was to make this picturesque eastern part of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids more attractive, to offer tourists an unconventional view of the three states in the immediate vicinity of the village of Nýdek. The observation tower itself is located on the border of the Czech Republic and Poland. The construction led to the creation of a tourist area, which was missing on this peak.
