You should drive to the Trögerner Gorge from Bad Eisenkappel, because you have to travel a distance of around 8 km to get to the start.
You turn onto the Ebriach-Trögerner state road opposite the Maria Dorn church and after just 3 km you come to the first narrow road - the "Ebriach Gorge". Here, a quarry is used to extract fine chippings from the extremely hard volcanic diabase for road construction. The road is narrow, often lying under the overhanging rocks, and has only one lane. Just below it is the Ebriach stream, which has dug a narrow bed for itself here over the course of thousands of years. The mighty rock walls rise steeply on both sides. Once you have passed this short stretch in the grey-green rock formation, the valley widens and you drive through the scattered settlement of Ebriach, past the Kovač inn and the school, to the junction. Here or in the following parking lots, you should park your car and walk through the Trögerner Gorge. You can also drive through the 3 km long gorge, but it is not recommended. The road is narrow, so you can only pass each other at the passing places. It is asphalted throughout and secured with wooden guard rails.
The entire gorge has no significant inclines, so you can visit it with a stroller or even a wheelchair.
You can only enjoy its beauty if you walk through the gorge on foot!
