In 1857, the residents of Scheven decided to build a church in the town using their own resources. The foundation stone was laid in the same year. Saints Apollinaris of Ravenna and Agatha of Catania were chosen as the patrons of the church. It was completed in 1861 as a single-nave neo-Gothic church with a west tower and a choir closed on three sides. The first service was held on October 17, 1861.

St. Apollinaris and Agatha is a Roman Catholic parish church in Scheven, a district of Kall in the Euskirchen district in North Rhine-Westphalia. The parish of Dottel-Scheven today forms, with several other parishes, the community of the parishes of St. Hermann-Josef Steinfeld in the diocese of Aachen.
